Top Gun – Cancelled

Doors: 7.30pm - Film: Nightfall Sunday 22nd August - Oakham Castle
Dear  Ticket Holders
We are contacting you today with some sad news.
Due to low advance ticket numbers we regretfully are unable to proceed with The Star & Mouse outdoor cinema program Oakham Castle
Despite much determination and enthusiasm were unable to reach the numbers required in order to put deliver our event to you to the standards we look towards. As you can imagine there are large costs which need to be covered in order to produce our events and sadly at this present moment in time we are quite simply not able to cover those costs.
We have therefore made the difficult decision to cancel the Oakham Cinema Weekend line-up.
We promise that we will be returning to Oakham this time next year and hope very much that you are able to join us.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff at the Castle for all of the help, support and encouragement that we have received during this planning process. We are an external company who are forever grateful for all of the efforts that have been made in order to host our team and our event.
It is with great sadness that we have met this decision. Although we were very much looking forward to opening our house up in order to celebrate the easing of the lockdown restrictions it would appear that we still have a little pathway to walk down before we have sure footing under our feet.
May we take this opportunity to apologise for any disappointment that this news has caused. We have you in our hearts and are determined to make our way back to you as  soon as we can. Your buoyancy cannot be beaten and we are still hankering to spend a wonderful evening of revelling with you.
We will be refunding all of your tickets for now, but hope that you can join us for 2022. May we wish you a very happy summer.
Stay safe
Best wishes
Mr and Mrs Mouse xx

Sunday 22nd August

Travelling boutique cinema, The Star & Mouse, is returning to Oakham Castle for another outdoor screening and of course they’ll be pulling out all the stops.

Gates open from 7:30pm, giving movie-goers plenty of time to get parked up, find a seat, grab a drink or three from the bar and soak up the atmosphere before the film begins at nightfall.

Enjoy the delights of the socially distanced seating areas along with added extras such as live music and street food before snuggling underneath the stars .

For the hungry foodies amongst you; hot delights will be served from 7:30pm and onward by a guest food truck . Please note that due to strict licensing legislation regarding waste management, picnics are not allowed on site.

It’s a good idea to wrap up warm and take a blanket to snuggle underneath. This is a dog friendly event and we welcome your four-legged friends.

We look forward to seeing you for a bit of happiness.
